Introduction - The Most Important Part of a Research Paper

Introduction - The Most Important Part of a Research PaperAn introduction is one of the most important parts of a research paper. The essay basically serves as an introduction to your overall topic. Research papers are typically written by students, for students, and should be written very clearly. In order to effectively present your idea, you have to prepare your topic sufficiently, which will make your paper well rounded. An excellent introduction would go a long way to making the research paper successful. However, the introduction is not always obvious to people reading it. It may appear like an interruption, or a question, that the reader has to answer. Well, in order to do this, you should consider the following suggestions.First of all, start with an introductory paragraph. This makes a good introduction to your topic and can give your readers a brief idea of what you are trying to say. For example, if you are writing about pet care, start your introductory paragraph by talkin g about your interest in pet care. If you're writing about studying statistics, start with a statistic that is mentioned in your paper, but don't get too specific.Subsequent paragraphs would be specific to the section you're in. When talking about statistics, say something about the statistic in your paper, but don't worry too much about what the statistic is. Say it only when appropriate. For example, don't ask students in class what percent of black students choose not to finish their high school careers because they are only half black and half white.Another common part of an introduction is giving an overview of the topic. Sometimes, the professor or editor asks the writer to tell them what is the theme of the research paper. Well, you might want to give an overview on that. Just make sure you clarify everything clearly. Don't try to invent a theme for the paper.A third tip is to come up with a hook for your research paper. Usually, the hook is an explanation why the topic is in teresting to the writer. You can either come up with your own, or borrow a good one from an article.Writing a research paper is not too hard, provided you know what you're doing. A good introduction helps a lot in presenting your idea and preparing the rest of the paper.
